On April 21, 2024, Huayuan Science & Technology Co., Ltd. successfully completed the pullback operation for the directional drilling of the Meghna Gomti Branch-2 River crossing in the EPC Contract Section II of the BMH Gas Transmission Pipeline Project, which is undertaken for the Bangladesh Gas Transmission Company Limited (GTCL). The crossing spans 1,096 meters with a pipeline diameter of 42 inches (1,067 mm).

The BMH project owner is the Gas Transmission Company Limited, a subsidiary of Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation. In 2023, Huayuan Science and Technology won the bid for two out of three EPC directional drilling contracts within this project. This project marks the company's first venture into the Bangladeshi market and represents another milestone in the expansion of its EPC business in overseas markets. After winning the contract, the company organized a project team and progressively carried out various tasks, including survey and design, procurement of main materials, sea transportation and customs clearance, etc.

This river crossing construction commenced on March 8, and completed the hole washing (or repair) on April 20. It takes 16hours to complete the pipeline pullback successfully. The successful operation of this crossing has won high recognition and trust from the owner, meeting all the owner's requirements regarding safety, quality, and progress. It also helps us to accumulate valuable experience for the successful implementation of the subsequent five river crossings.
